Windows 2000 SecureNET™ Setup Guide |
Step 1) Open Control Panel
First, open your Windows control panel. To do this, double-click on the "My Computer" icon on your desktop. Then click on "Control Panel".

Step 2) Open Network and Dial-Up Connections
When your control panel opens, double-click on "Network and Dial-Up Connections".

Step 3) Start the Wizard
When the Network and Dial-Up Connections folder opens, double-click on "Make New Connection". You should see the "Network Connection Wizard" screen. Click the "Next" button to continue.


Step 4) Select the connection type
Next, select "Connect to a private network through the Internet" and click the "Next" button.

Step 5) Enter the SecureNET™ server name
On this screen, type "vpn1.myprivacy.cc" and click the "Next" button. "gateway.publicvpn.net" is the host name of the SecureNET™ server.

Step 6) Set the user access
On this screen, select "For all users" if you want all the users on your computer to be able to use your VPN. If you want to limit the VPN to just your user, select "Only for myself". Click the "Next" button to continue.

Step 7) Name the Connection
Next, type "SecureNET™" for the name of the computer you are dialing. Make sure your window looks like the one below, then click the "Finish" button.

Step 8) New icon in Network and Dial-Up Connections
When the wizard exits, you should see your new VPN connection in the Network and Dial-Up Connections folder.

Step 9) Set up connection settings
Next, we'll set up the connection settings. Double-click on the new connection, and you will see a window that looks like the one below:

In the yellow 'User Name' box, enter your SecureNET™ username. In the green 'Password' box, enter your SecureNET™ password. Optionally, click 'Save Password' to save your password as part of the connection.
When you want to connect
When you want to connect to SecureNET™, just double-click on the connection and click the "Connect" button. You'll see the following screens while you connect:
Your computer is verifying your SecureNET™ username and password

Your computer successfully logged on to SecureNET™!
